Dude was special. I like the blues licks but Srv was powerfull.

Neal schon had a great vocalist but earned his keep during the age.

Followed Stevie around the Texas Triangle in my high school years. Saw him the first time in Austin and instantly joined our first rock and roll blues cult. Seen him 8 times in that 1st year alone. Dude was a living god. Never really got over his death, but accepted that he was gone. His place in guitar lore shall remain forever.

Read stories where his wife said she would wake up in the middle of the night and he would be playing guitar in his sleep. The guitar was an extension of his soul

I’ve seen bonamassa, clapton, trucks, bramhall jr and a couple dozen other genre guitarists but I’ll never get to see Srv, prince, or bb.

SRV was great bc of his guitar heroes; Albert King, Freddie King and SRV's older brother Jimmie. These guys knew how to play.

Clapton was supposed to be in that helicopter. He insisted SRV take his seat so Stevie wouldn't have to drive back home.

No, Eric Clapton was not supposed to be on the fatal helicopter that crashed. After the August 27, 1990 concert at Alpine Valley Music Theatre in Wisconsin, a convoy of multiple helicopters was used to fly back to Chicago. Clapton boarded a different helicopter in that group.

Now if we're talking about Waylon Jennings and Buddy Holly...
