I've searched the Spotify forum boards and internet widely to no avail. I cannot figure out a way to remove an entire artist from a playlist i've created without downloading the full desktop version of Spotify, which i can't do on my work computer due to administrative rights.

This is a topic i've seen posted several times on their boards but nobody ever gets an answer. Seems like a pretty basic function which is why i figure i'm just missing it somehow.

Can anyone help me figure this out? I'm using either the android app or browser version of spotify.

How many songs from the artist are you trying to delete? It is a little more tedious but you can filter the playlist by the artist and then delete each song.

it's a lot, like 120 or so. i realize i can sort and then delete one by one but damn that sure seems tedious for such a simple function that should be available....

On the desktop app, I believe you can delete more than one song at a time. Just download the desktop app on your home PC and do it there. Sort by artist. Click on first song by the artist. Hold shift and click on the last song by the artist. Press delete key.

i'm aware i can do that.

i was requesting a way around it by using the app or mobile interface. thanks for your suggestion though.

if i'm out at the beach or in the mountains and wanting to edit a playlist on the fly and I can't exactly bring a desktop PC to the beach. conviently anyway. seems like a fairly simple feature to at to the app or browser version that people have been asking for for years now..

Yeah, I hear you...I wish the mobile app or even the web browser portal would allow a little more functionality of the desktop app. There are a lot of things Spotify could do better, but it seems they spend their resources on the bigger picture stuff that affect more users.

Well to be fair, in the 6 or so hours that have gone by since you made this post you could have deleted all 120 songs.

I was referring to just filtering the artist on your mobile device and deleting the songs individually.
