Sponge - Rotting Pinata

I was just thinking about these guys the other day. That whole album is pretty good to very good.

Plowed played on the shuffle today when I was in the car, love that song.

I think 1995 missed out. A lot of music heads found Sponge, but by the end of 1996 -- they and all who were similar were replaced. Many replaced with the likes of Jamiroqui, Fiona Apple, and a lot of new hip hop/rap.

I recall a lot of alt and rock fans were anxiously awaiting NIN's new album, which did not come until late 1999. Still, where did this music go and why did it die out? Bush, No Doubt, The Wallflowers, Counting Crows, and to a degree, STP, were the only bands of the '94-'96 era that survived.

And I remember hearing Plowed for the first time. Strangely, I was in Omaha, NE because I had already made my reservations thinking that LSU was a shoe-in. CSF and Rice thought otherwise and I went up there watching FSU play Miami, CSF cs. Stanford, and USC vs. Clemson. I still made the most of that '95 trip and heard Sponge, HUM, and many other alt bands for first time. The trip was worth it for the booze, puss, and the MUSIC. Great album!
