I heard a live version of "Sympathy for the Devil" recently and was struck by how much it sounded like Panic. The bongos, the piano, and i could totally hear a Mikey solo over it.
So i looked up if Panic had ever done a cover and...holy crap, yeah. And it's so good.

Spangler is quintessential Panic... a damn near perfect song.

I mean if dude is going to a show for the current version of Panic, and he listens to a bunch of pre-July 02 shows, he's just setting himself up for disappointment. They're a shell of what they used to be.

Yea after I thought about it I see what you are saying... I was thinking if the person wanted to get into Panic then they should start with Mikey. If the person just wants to get a feel for what they are getting themselves into at a festival then, I guess. I still think you should start with Mikey first though to at least get an idea of where they came from.

I always kicked myself for not making it last time tBoys played up there. I've always wanted to make this fest for some reason. Seems like a great atmosphere to see a show, especially my favorite band. I'll be driving up from Austin, probably solo so I'll definitely be down to kick it. I'll try to remember to come back and post something up here when the time get's closer.
