Soundgarden is the better band IMO but if you throw all the albums together, Audioslave's debut album tops the list.
Superunknown is easily one of the best albums of the 90s and beyond. Audioslave's debut was great, and I'm glad I saw them on that tour, but that band isn't even in the same building as Soundgarden.

My jam, never get tired of it.
Okay, now I have to contribute my CSB.
December 1991. Soundgarden touring with Guns N’ Roses as their opening act on their stadium tour. December 28th they played the SunCoast Dome in St. Pete and then New Years Eve Joe Robbie Stadium in Miami. Well on the 29th Soundgarden made the trek up to Jacksonville to play the legendary Jax venue called The Milk Bar. A dark basement venue in downtown Jax with capacity of probably about 300. I heard about it a week before and made sure I was in attendance. Never forget when the lights went down and the See n’ Say lead in to Searching With My Good Eye Closed started. What a fantastic opener for an amazing show.
Six months before they blew up thanks to Lollapalooza. Check.
Small, dark basement venue. Check.
Badmotorfinger tour. Check.
It was freaking epic!

I saw them open for G N’ R on that tour in Baton Rouge. They opened with it there, too. I was the only one in our group who was familiar with them prior, and they blew everyone away.

Yeah I had only learned of them a couple of months beforehand. Was amped as hell when I found out they were coming. Glad your group liked them. I’ve seen someone post that they hated them when they saw them open for GnR. Craziness.

Gotta go Soundgarden. I wore out my Audioslave CD for sure, but I did that on multiple SG albums.

Audioslave only has two good albums.
Soundgarden is on a whole other level.
