Began as an unheralded underground electronic act before adding vocalist Kelli Dayton. Sold a million copies of their album Becoming X and signed by Virgin.
They followed up their success by dumping Dayton and her distinctive vocals, who the general public had come to identify as the face of the group, and tinkering with their sound. Never come close to matching the success of Becoming X.

“How Do”, their version of “Willow’s Song” from the original Wicker Man, is entrancing. I love that song.
