Shock G, ‘Humpty Hump’ of Digital Underground, Dies at 57

Shock G, producer and frontman of the 1990s hip-hop group Digital Underground and widely known for his alter-ego “Humpty Hump,” has died, according to the group’s co-founder Chopmaster G. Shock’s real name was Gregory Jacobs; his death was confirmed to TMZ by by his father, Edward Racker, although no cause has been cited. He was 57. LINK

Damn.. He was a huge influence in the early 90s..helped introduce the world to Tupac as well.

This one hurts. DU was a huge part of my childhood. I've held fast in my belief that Sex Packets is a masterpiece and the best rap record I've ever listened to. I spin it still, and it never grows old. DU brought melody and music to their songs along with fun, upbeat lyrics and persona. Shock G was brilliant.
