Holy shite.

This was my first time to get to see them, and my god... They absolutely killed it. I'm kicking myself for not seeing them sooner.

Here's the set from Southaven:

No Quarter cover (Zeppelin)
The Grudge
Parabola
Schism
Opiate
Descending
Aenema
Jambi
46&2
Carey Drum Solo
Sweat
Stinkfist

They were joined by Primus as well. They were a great opener and sounded on point.

I'm still pretty geeked up. I could've ran through a wall during the Tool set. Anyone else made a show of theirs this tour?

I was at this show.

Bought these tickets before they announced the NOLA show. Got my first TOOL fix since 2010... can't wait to see them again in 10 days!!

Unless 3Teeth played early, they weren't at this show. (not that I really cared) Primus was on by 7:05.

Only complaint was the venue itself. The seating area was fine and the show sounded amazing, but the concourse areas were a giant clusterfrick.

Also, I bought a nice bootleg concert tee in the parking lot for $20

Saw them in Las Vegas in 2002 and was very impressed. Wouldn't mind seeing them again.

The opening act for them that night was some band with the former lead singer of Faith No More. He put on a gas mask and mostly screamed. Everyone booed him and I remember him saying that if everyone kept booing they were going to keep playing. Everyone stopped booing at that point.

Tomahawk was the band.

There was a very similar experience at the New Orleans show I guess he was getting this treatment the entire tour. I like Mike Patton, but sometimes his creative juices run along the weird. This was one of them

I guess he was either of that night or the crowd didn't realize they were witnessing one of the greatest voices in rock history in Mike Patton.

James Maynard's motive for concerts is to melt your face off

The gas mask sort of caused a problem relative to his voice. Probably why most weren't happy.

the tomahawk opening tour (saw tool 5 times that year), mike patton was going for that reaction. He talked shite to the crowd in every city I was in, even the one or two who didnt boo them. He was most definitely going for that reaction.

They did come out to play drums on triad and jammed it out (with mike patton dressed as a doctor from the 50's)
