The list is bad, but I don't get the hate for Mariah Carey. She's one of the most iconic female singers ever and had like 20 number one hits over almost two decades. She also writes or co-writes all of her own material unlike most pop singers. I understand if you don't like her music, but you can't deny her talent and she's probably influenced every female pop singer of the past 25 years.

It's subjective. I think she's horrible. As was Aretha Franklin.
...but more importantly, if people can't look at that list and realize it was only written to solicite negative responses, then they're idiots.
For the record, if Elvis, Lennon and McCartney aren't in the top 5, the list is probably null and void.

The other day I checked out the list of 200, one by one. IMO ,the list is very subjective.
I saw many unknown artists, which is fine with me, if they are on the list, they must be great. However, there are many hair band lead singers that were left off that list and are worth of recognition: Jami Jameson, Jani Lane, Robin Zander, Sammy Hagar, etc. Also no Billy Joel, Peter Cetera, Daryl Hall, Celine Dion, the list can go on and on.
Then if they will list international stars, it is not even complete. Missing Jose Jose, Luis Miguel, Julio Iglesias, Cristian Castro, etc etc. BS list.

Otis only at #9 ?
Criminal!
Chris Cornell had a great voice
Would agree with the placement of Sam Cooke, though. But I would put Otis directly behind him and then Al Green. Think Aretha Franklin is ranked too high.

Yep, that is one awful list.
I would rather sit through 2 hours of Fred Shneider (B52s) singing Methodist hymns A Capella, than to have to listen to Mariah Carey's elongated mouth farts.

No Donnie Hathaway no legit. But seriously, impossible to do a best 50, let alone a best 10. I’d have 3 of those in my top 10. Like where the frick is Sinatra ? Mercury ? And on and on and on… white peeps
