I would've loved to hear him tell stories about Hendrix.

But mostly their catalogue was unlistenable.

I could not disagree more. I love most of the stuff they ever did.

I'm blasting Overkill pretty fricking loud right now.

I like the 4 songs Metallica did on Garage Inc. OK, but the other stuff is just devoid of melody and the production quality is terrible.

Not exactly music to sit around and listen to but live they were amazing. Saw them years ago when they came through Birmingham once.

Yeah...I know.....

I will say they ripped they practically ripped the fricking roof off of this place. It was at a weird location....the Bessemer Civic Center which is a bizarre location for a concert if you know anything about Birmingham (Alabama). I heard they held it there because no where else would book them and wanted nothing to do with Motorhead and their hardcore audience..I couldn't believe how loud they played....it was a general admission show with pretty much no security and the audience went apeshit.

WTF? Lemmy was an incredibly low life degenerate--I imagine the characterization quoted above has him turning in his grave--or on his roast spit down below as the case may be.

The production quality doesn't bother me a bit. I don't find anything at all wrong with most of it.

As the years have gone by and I've delved deeper into their work, I've been struck by just how well most of their songs really are written and by how strong they are in most respects. I find as the years go by and my taste continue to broaden, their music appeals to me more than it ever did before.

Not a fan at all. Sad to see someone die, but he lived the life of 10 men. He will be missed by many. I still don't like Motorhead.

He actually wasn't as bad as you think. He liked to party but he had a serious side too. He had amassed a huge and quite comprehensive collection of WWII memorabilia, particularly that of Germany.

Give me 3 motorhead songs I might not have heard that fit your description here. I'll go back and give it another try.

I actually meant my comment as a compliment to Lem. I think he'd be quite flattered by my remarks.

Burn 'em up down there, Lemmy, you beautiful bastard!

I pretty much like them all. Pick three at random.

Motorhead the the Ramones are the two best pure rock 'n roll bands in history. No Beatles, no Stones, no nothing.

Thanks for the ride, Lemmy.
