the Opry doesn't "need" Ringo to draw a crowd.
but if you can land a Beatle, you do it. that simple.

quote:What's crazy about Ringo is how many times as a child he came close to dying. He was desperately sickly:
He does not look or sound 84 years old. He's took care of himself.
quote:
Before the age of 10, Ringo Starr (born Richard Starkey) faced several serious health challenges that significantly impacted his early life:
1. Appendicitis and Peritonitis (Age 6) – At age six, Ringo suffered from a severe case of appendicitis that led to peritonitis, a life-threatening infection of the abdominal lining. He was hospitalized for nearly a year and had to undergo multiple surgeries.
2. Pleural Effusion and Tuberculosis (Age 8-9) – A couple of years after recovering from his first illness, Ringo contracted tuberculosis. He was sent to a specialized sanatorium, where he stayed for two years as part of his treatment and rehabilitation. During this time, he was introduced to drumming as part of a therapeutic program.
(that was from Gemini)
He was essentially hospitalized for 3 full years of his first 9 on earth.

Ringo released a country album earlier this year, tards. He wasn't playing at the Opry for no reason.

Love Ringo....if people will still pay to see you do something at 84, you're winning.

He was just performing, correct? It’s not like they made him a member????

Bumping this, as I finally finished watching it last night. The entire thing was a country affair - including some blistering stuff from Billy Strings.
Anyone who questions whether or not Ringo "should" have been there is dumb.
