This is a letter Flea wrote about them not being plugged in. The Super Bowl gave them no choice. They pre-recorded the music, but the vocals were live.

Pretty commonplace when it's a logistical nightmare, even when the bands are worthy. Most award shows are about 50/50. Vox are typically live.

Dig them owning it and really enjoyed that part of the show. Mentioned on the MSB that I was suprised they let the "get it put it in you" line happen. R-God pitched "girl, we couldn't get much better".

Define "selling out." Who really cares if a band plays the Super Bowl? If that's what they want to do because they thought it would be fun and a great opportunity, then what is wrong with that?
