Religion aside, what do you think about Jimmy Lee Swaggart as a musician?

I’m not preaching, I promise. I consider myself more than lucky to be a Child of Christ. I wish all of you joy and peace.

I think the man is a sinner (as we all are), and I’d never give money to him, but I think as a musician, he’s incredible. The genes speak for themselves.

I’ve just always loved this song... Jesus on the Main Line

Here's some of my neighbors doing that song
LINK

The guy singing is my bail bondsman, I'm lucky that he trades for goats and donkeys. Just joking, I aint needed him yet for that. I've heard that the part about Goats and donkeys is true though.

He really is a bail bondsman, but a very talented musician. Great Banjo and guitar player. His name is Roger Hammett
The guitar player is named Brian Carter, he's really good.
The gals singing, work at the local music store. I don't know the keyboard player, but he's probably local too.

Sometime I would watch his Sunday morning shows just to watch him play.
The guy definitely has musical talent. Always wondered how successful he would have been had he taken the same path as his two cousins, Jerry Lee Louis and Mickey Gilley.

There was clearly a music gene in the family that fell on the cousins Swaggart, Lewis and Gilley.

Swaggart has (or at least had) a great voice and feel for gospel music. That Miss Lou area is underrated as a hotbed of music.

In addition, regardless of whatever else he is (debauched sinner, lustful, gluttonous, self-righteous, judgmental, prudish, priggish, etc., and he certainly is all of those terrible things and more), Jimmy Swaggart flat out knows the bible (particularly the New Testament) inside, out and underneath. Backwards, forwards and upside down.

So, talk about the bad, but don't deny/ignore the good.

I'll just let The Killer do the talking for me...

I told 'em at my grandmother's funeral. I said, "Boys, y'all have got a lot of talent. But God blessed me with the talent. Y'all just got the scrapin's.
