How are we going to plan our live music weekends now?

quote:

Hey y'all,
First, thank you for the incredible outpouring of love. It’s honestly overwhelming, and we’re truly grateful for all the kindness and support you’ve shown us. ??
A lot of people have asked why we’re shutting down. There isn’t one reason, but many personal and professional factors have come together over the past year that ultimately led us to this decision. It wasn’t made hastily, we’ve thought about it carefully for quite some time.
Baton Rouge has an incredible music community, and we have no doubt that the people who make it special will continue to keep it thriving, growing, and evolving.
We’re incredibly proud of what we built and so grateful that we got to be a small part of the local music scene for so many years.
Again, thank you so much for all the love, kind words, and memories. We truly appreciate y’all! ??
Cheers,
Christopher & Caitlen Odell

Ngl, I used their live music calendar a lot. I will miss them.

Does anyone remember the Baton Rouge Rocks website?

I saw it mentioned in an issue of 225 magazine. I went there and saw a poster refer to "this other site I go to" -- which brought me here.

Now you know who to blame.

Maybe 225 Magazine could take the torch.

Or BR folks could encourage Offbeat magazine to expand their coverage or add separate listings for BR. They sometimes include BR listings at bigger venues, and list occasional MS coast shows at a place like 100 Men Hall. I check the livewire listings at least once a week.

Offbeat livewire

That said, Offbeat usually doesn't list cover bands at restaurants and the like, which I think was a good portion of the redstickmusic listings.
