Recs for Guitar Lessons Online

I’m thinking about picking up playing the guitar as a hobby. I live outside the country and in person lessons aren’t really my ideal option at this point. I must also say I have no musical background or training, so I will truly be a beginner. I’m more than happy to spend some time teaching myself via YouTube or whatever Apps or paid sites make sense. Any recommendations?

Check out Justin guitar first. He has a site that has lessons in stages starting with beginning stuff and proceeds from there. Has songs that line up with the lessons. Plenty of videos etc. It’s free and it’s just as good as anything else online.
There are others like guitar sage, Marty Swartz, Andy guitar. Think some of their stuff is free to a point but then goes paid.
Plenty of stuff to check out and make a decision. Just don’t get on YouTube and watch random videos. Get some structure to your lessons and practice.
Biggest thing I liked about Justin is he gives you a practice schedule with practice times for each lesson. I’ve even printed these out and given to other people.

Any recommendations on whether to start with an acoustic or electric guitar? I see that one guys recommends electric but acoustic seems a bit more my style.

I want to learn to play guitar
I started this thread a couple of weeks ago and got some great advice in it. I'd begin there. I still haven't started. A buddy is going to loan me a guitar to get started on so I can begin to get a feel for what I like and what fits me.
