I'm running a half marathon in a month and I need to find some music to occupy my self with on these long arse runs. I like everything except death metal type music. Any suggestions?

knaan- country, god, or the girl. good upbeat, uplifting music.
gary clark jr, blak and blue
antibalas, afrobeat in the vein of fela kuti
beats antique
medeski, martin and wood- free magic. awesome improv jazz, may be a little too slow for running though.
cody chestnutt- landing on a hundred- neo soul
dr john- locked down- dan auerbach is all over this (he produced it)

Titus Andronicus and Cloud Nothings are the two bands I have been listening to most when I run these days.

For running I generally go with stuff I'm already familiar with, especially if I need an extra boost of energy/motivation.
Regardless, here are a few of my favorite albums to listen to while running this year:
Japandroids
Cloud Nothings
Tame Impala
Titus Andronicus
I Break Horses
Purity Ring
DIIV

My fave running or cardio music is The Proclaimers -Sunshine on Leith CD. I love working out to it.
I mostly do my lifting to Dropkick Murphys, The Mahones, Frank Turner, Social Distortion and various west coast early punk bands.
