Rappers have better mixtapes then they do albums

More times then not rappers mixtapes, and other unreleased songs are just flat out better then the songs on the Album? I don't understand why this is

It's because of the beats. On a mixtape you can use anything so the best of the best gets used. For offical releases, rights and budgets often decrease the production quality.

Record labels have to approve what goes on the album and what doesn't. Rappers do whatever they want with their mixtapes
