Questions about FQF

Ok, I realize many on this board think its jumped the shark/too crowded/not cool anymore etc. But Ive officially ditched Jazzfest and this will be my first FQF. Have a room at Doubletree on Canal so good walking access. Help me plan my weekend

Its a great event, but gets unbelievably crowded on the weekend at the stages along the river. The music lineups on Thurs and Fri tend to be damn strong, and its not as crowded, so if you can out then its well worth it. Also, check out the Palm court Cafe on Decatur - they host bands during the Fest (without the usual cover charge) and its a good place to rest your feet.
