I vividly remember the news segment on TV when the Sex Pistols played at the Kingfish (Southdowns shopping center) back in '78. The reporter interviewed people outside in the line to get in and they all looked freaky but they seemed like they were having fun and I remember wishing I was old enough to get in and see what was going on inside.
I remember being kind of awed when I would go into Uncle Earls years later and look at the Kingfish mural on the back wall by the pool tables because that was the iconic backdrop to historic pictures of the show. I wish they could have preserved that when they remodeled for the Bulldog.

Anything by The Jam / Paul Weller. All Mod Cons is my favorite.
Marquee Moon - Television. Classic underrated album full of insane guitar playing by Tom Verlaine and Richard Lloyd.

Valley Girl was awesome!
Hard to believe that was 35 years ago. I first saw it in Washington, D.C., at a college radio convention.
The nostalgia was incredible.

Nicolas Cage peaked in that movie. It made me a fan of the Plimsouls and motivated me to drive from Houston to LA in ‘84 in search of Valley Girls.
