Stephen Stills became most famous for his tenure in CSNY but this rushed gem is often forgotten about.
Television - Marquee Moon
Television was punk rock band in New York City in the 70s/80s. This album was certainly a departure from the punk sound as it features long, groovy guitar workouts- especially in the famed title track. It is rumored that Phish will cover the entire album this Halloween.
Neil Young & Crazy Horse - Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere
Contains two mammoth guitar jams in "Down by the River" and "Cowgirl in the Sand." Also has "Cinnamon Girl" which is often present in a new guitarist's repertoire.
Derek & the Dominos - Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs
Eric Clapton and Duane Allman. That is all.
Eddie Hazel - Games, Dames, & Guitar Thangs
Best known as the lead guitarist for Funkadelic and his immortal "Maggot Brain" , Eddie Hazel also released this rarity with a rotating cast of funk musicians.

I really like the opening track but I feel the rest of the album just blends together after that point
eta: I know Phish covered some of it at a show in Italy one time. It is supposedly one of Trey's favorite albums.

This obviously needs no introduction. "Burning of the Midnight Lamp" flies a bit under the radar.
Frank Zappa - Hot Rats
The opening combo of "Peaches en Regalia" and "Willie the Pimp" is certainly one for the ages. The latter is one of my favorite solos ever.
The Stone Roses - The Stone Roses
One of the biggest acts in the UK during the late '80s, the self-titled debut features John Squire's brilliant tone. "I am the Resurrection" has an insane jam.
