I'm partial to The Chiffons.

One Fine Day

He's So Fine

The Exciters - Tell Him

The Crystals - Da Doo Run Run

The Crystals - Then He Kissed Me

The Chantels - Maybe

The Ronettes - Be My Baby

The Supremes - Come See About Me

The Supremes - Where Did Our Love Go

Great to look back and listen to tracks where they absolutely belted out the vocals, accompanied with excellent harmonies. See the last thirty seconds of "Tell Him" for the epitome of that.

We Can Be Together Beginning at 3:18, then again at 5:17, Grace Slick's power gives me chills.

All Tomorrow's Parties There's just something about Nico's voice that I love. I don't even care for the non-Nico Velvet's songs.

Lorraine Ellison - Stay With Me"

Some people consider this the greatest female vocal ever recorded. Although the single flopped when it was first released in 1966, soon afterward collectors were paying as much as $50 for a copy, an insane price for the time.

OK gonna get obscure now:

Shirley Matthews - "Big Town Boy"

One of the great lost girl group classics. I never dreamed I'd ever see film of her performing, but this clip from a Canadian TV show survived (do you recognize the host?). The vocals are live BTW.

The Cake - "Baby That's Me" -- the brilliant Spector-Nitzsche-esque arrangement is by NO's own Harold Battiste
