In a bargain bin I found a greatest hits compilation- Side A was Teddy Pendergrass and Side B was Al Green. That was one of my favorites.
Another memorable tape was "Domino's Pizza Sizzling Sounds of Summer" one year they were doing some promotion where every pizza order came with this tape. It was an oldie's compilation with songs like Louis Louis by the Kingsmen, Ain't Seen Nothing Yet by Bachman Turner Overdrive, Hot Times Summer in the City, and a string of other oldies. Loved that tape.
Regular albums that lived in my tape deck were Led Zeppelin I, Cream- Wheels of Fire, Workingman's Dead, Santana- Abraxas. Awesome albums on tape because you didn't have to skip songs with that fancy new fangled auto-stop on fast forward. You could just let them play with good song after good song.
Ooooh forgot to mention- when my good friend's older brother was off at college, I stole one of his tapes- Pink Floyd - A Collection of Great Dance Songs. Life changer, and my first introduction to Pink Floyd.
