Actually come to think of it, there aren't any hotels on canal road. Just condos. There aren't that many hotels in OB anyways. All condos and they will all be looking for a 2-3 night stay.
Check the cabins at the OB state park: Gulf State Park
That will probably the best bet and also very cheap.
on the beach:
Hampton Inn
Sleep Inn
Fairfield Inn (off the beach could be cheap)
Perdido Beach Resort it is likely to have high rates for that weekend. But you might as well check it out. It will be the nicest nearby

The cabins are full? Bummer they were recently renovated and apparently pretty decent. Regular camping isn't bad, it will just be hot as frick

They have a good restaurant and bar on site, while your there check out my gramps statue in the civic center
