Fair enough. I stand corrected.

I've had "Beast of Burden" looping since I initially posted about it. I swear this song doesn't get old to me.

Honestly, if you are really interested in finding the answer to your question, read Keef Richard's book, Life. It will give you a new appreciation for the Stones. And it is a really great, easy read. Fyi, I'm only 33 so I wasnt around when the Stones were ground breaking.

Who's Keef Richard?
Lead guitarist for the Rolling Stones. Wrote most of their songs. He is kind of a big deal. Surprised you haven't heard of him...if you are referring to the spelling of "keef", read the book.

the Beatles had the "White Album",
The Stones had a fully functioning zipper.

You cite alot of songs and say there are lots of great Stones stuff post Some Girls.
What you don´t say is, these songs which in your opinion are strong, come from what seems like 25 albums. They´ve been flogging around for quite some time.
Emotional Rescue had some great stuff, Let Me Go, She´s So Cold, but that album wasn´t strong, and things went progressively downhill from there.
Kudos to them for keeping on keeping on, however, the only gem they did pull out of their arse, for me, was Saint of Me.

Hang Fire
I don´t get the craziness for Tattoo You (that was the name of that album, wasn´t it?)

You just changed it from Steel Wheels to Tattoo You, which I was just about to tell you.
I like Start Me Up, Little T&A, and Waiting on a Friend from that album too.

Yeah, corrected it, because I had to look, I knew it wasn´t right when I wrote it.
Little T and A was pure Keef. God, I love that song. Probably penned earlier too. It´s got a ´Happy´feeling, doesn´t it?

So you have heard of him and you were being a smartass about my grammar. Good job. You made a post about grammar in a music thread.
For the Stones fans, Sticky or Exile? I say Exile, with Shine a Light putting that album over the top. But Dead Flowers is solid. Thoughts?
Posted on 1/11/13 at 9:21 pm to jose canseco
Exile is a double album, it´s not a fair comparison.

Good point. Sticky has more of my "go to songs" but Exile is great for plug and play. And I can't help but imagine Mick & Keef cruisin in the boat to record classic tracks for Exile.
Posted on 1/11/13 at 9:30 pm to jose canseco
Sticky was their apex, not actually, they already were at that level for four albums or so, but I think Mick Taylor bailing really bummed them, and all of us, out. Big time.

I will say exile would be my second favorite. No song stands alone on it for me and i rarely go to listen to just one song off it.(tumbling dice usually) I always hit play and let it go. In my rotation at work. One of those so familiar I can enjoy it and not be distracted from work. Been meaning to listen to it with a scotch bottle but haven't.
