Spectacular rendition of Stairway to Heaven one of my least favorite Led Zep songs.

I think people just bitch about it because of how overplayed it is. They definitely have better songs, but that is their most known.

For the record I agree it's a good song. Just wouldn't even make it in my top 10 LZ songs.

I think a lot of music is like that. A lot of artists very good songs get over played on the radio and take away from what genius was really put into that particular song. Oasis's wonderwall could never be played around me again, but if I had never heard any of their music I bet that would be a top 3 song of mine from them.

So true; just like Blue Oyster Cult- try to get something played on a 'classic rock' station beyond Reaper or Burning, they will tell you it's not in their format. Radio stations play the same damn songs over & over again until you get burned out on them, yet groups like LZ, have many great songs that receive zero airplay.

Cadillac did to this song what the Nissan Frontier did to Jimi Hendrix's "Freedom".

I like Zep and all but those dudes were massive plagiarists.

they may even be GOAT in that category.

even Stairway was stolen.

Them and every blues musician ever. Most of their music was original. And some of the "plagiarism" is from bands that the members of LZ were a part of. This is way overplayed IMO.

Led Zeppelin did not steal Stairway to Heaven.

I've heard the song that it is supposedly ripped off from.

You can't seriously think that song is Stairway to Heaven.

There is only a very vague similarity in the opening acoustic guitar.

Sure, Zep stole many of their early songs from blues artists, but it wasn't out of malice. Jimmy Page was a drug-addled hippie who knew nothing about copyright law.

Zep based a lot of their earlier works on blues classics........... The Lemon song, whole lotta love ect.. I wouldn't call it stealing, it was a rock arrangement and performance of blues classics done by hundreds of artists. Stairway starts in A minor, doesn't mean they stole it from another band that starts a song in A minor. BTW my dog likes Zep, doesn't mean he would be a good president.

No, almost all of their early songs (from Led Zeppelin I and II) were total rip-offs of old blues songs.

Judges agreed and awarded those artists millions.

However, Jimmy Page had no idea his band would be so successful and that all that money would be available to share.
