I'm working near Boston for the summer and realized the famed Newport Folk Festival was happening ... scored a ticket for the weekend and went down. Beautiful facility on the water and the weather was perfect. It's not a very big footprint and contains one large stage, tent and a smaller tent. My main issue was you couldn't drink alcohol near the stages but rather in two cordoned off areas with not so great views of the action. I am a big Phosphorescent fan and enjoyed that set. JS Ondara blew away the masses huddled around his stage. Saw Tweedy for a bit ... Wilco/Tweedy fatigue has set in after so many years, but he did play a Tupelo song and was engaging. Gregory Alan Isakov was fantastic. The most impressive thing is people really do listen to the music and didn't chit chat the entire time

nice summary here : LINK

I'd like to go and I love Isakov

Honestly seeing someone cover Wheatus in 2019 would have made the entire festival for me

Gregory Alan Isakov is a treat- anyone who gets a chance should go see him. Phosphorecent just announced a show down the street from me in Oakland during Outside Lands weekend. stoked. Tweedy solo lately has been really good (fatigue or not).
