Huge Sturgill fan I play his first 3 all the time. I'm super scared this album is gonna be bad. I thought the first single was awful. Hope I'm wrong.

Not really. Maybe it has just felt that way. I don't expect an artist to put out an album every year. Some can do it (and even multiple albums a year) but most take a few years between albums.

I thought his first song was amazing. Just different then the same crap out by other artists. Reading about how the album came about makes me like it more and why is sounds the way it does. He does say he’s not a country artist so I don’t know what people expect. Good music is good music and sturgill is switching it up and taking some risks.
