New album out tomorrow 12/9. Two songs have already been released

False Prophets

Everybody Dies

Can't wait for this. Cole is one of the few of this generation who put out quality lyrical hip hop. No trap rap junk, no autotune, no mumbling BS. It's refreshing. We will see if this can top Tribe's new album for my favorite hip hop album of the year.

Excited for this one. Forrest Hills was near classic status. Love the 2 songs released. Cole taking no prisoners. Also pumped for the new Ab-Soul album tomorrow.

Listened to a few songs, J Cole is so damn good. I didn't see the song "Everybody Dies" from the OP on the album which was kind of disappointing. Song is fire.

That's deep. No one in the game can compare to J Cole.

Another classic album. Another year of no awards for him most likely.

Really liking it after first listen. Wish it was longer than 10 songs but quality>quantity it seems in this case.

Kendrick and a few others certainly can compare I just find myself relistening to Cole the most. To Pimp A Butterfly was amazing but I don't replay it anywhere near as much as Forest Hills for example.

Same here. Forest Hills was a perfect mix of bangers and poetry IMO.

One Day Everybody Gotta Die and False Prophets aren't technically on this album, they were just singles dropped leading up to the album dropping

I was hoping these songs related to the album though, he kills some rappers in those songs, was hoping on a whole album just murdering rappers lol

Cole continues to develop as an artist with each project, but I don't like this one as much as 2014 FHD. No bangers like Fire Squad or GOMD, but lyrically and conceptually it's his best work on first listen. I feel the same about Cole's last two albums as I did with Kdot's GKMC and TPAB

That's how I felt after my first listen, but then realized this album was extremely personal to him. Way more emotional (probably because of the birth of his daughter recently and his recent marriage). I was waiting for the bangers, but stopped and listened to it a 2nd time and realized this was personal for him.

The thing I take away from most people who have listened to the album is that it takes multiple listens to fully appreciate it. With each listen it gets better and better. What Cole did with this album is impressive. Cole World.

This album is getting alot of hate on reddit and other social media but I really really like it.

For example - people are shitting on it but as a dude who is in the process of settling down with a woman I love....
"Foldin Clothes" really hits me in the feels.

It kind of just seems it's an album meant to connect to the everyman. As an everyman I really appreciate it.

Vile Mentality is pretty nice. J-cole is underrated. This is true hip hop.

Don't think I'm going to download this. Those deep, heavy lyric, slower hip hop songs are nice but I get burnt out on them after just a few listens and it sounds like that's every song on this album. I need a few bangers mixed in

How's that ab-soul album? Haven't listened to him in awhile

I'm really digging the new Ab-Soul. It's much better than These Days. Lyrically Soul is outstanding. The production starts off with dark, almost sinister beats which is Soul's trademark. However the mood/production seems to lighten up as the album progresses. There are standout tracks like Raw (backwards), Huey Knew, Threatening Nature, and D.R.U.G.S. There are some filler tracks also but it's overall a strong album. All that said, I find people either love Soul or don't like him at all. If you dig his stuff then definitely check DWTW.

He's alright but to say no one compares is a ridiculous statement
