In October, Depeche Mode announced a spring arena tour, as well as news that they'd release a new record in the spring. The album, which follows 2009's Sounds of the Universe, will be out in March 2013 via Columbia, the band confirmed today. It will be their first release on Columbia.

On the band's website, Depeche Mode's Martin Gore said, "The music has a similar vibe to [1990's] Violator and [1993's] Songs of Faith and Devotion and I think the songs on the album are among some of the very best we've done." Meanwhile, describing the record, Dave Gahan said it's "not a blues record, but it definitely has a soulful vibe."

More details, as well as a full North American tour, are coming soon.

Ahhhhhh...HELL YES!

In reality, this will either be a huge hit or miss. Hoping for a hit.

I could see it being decent. Gahan has one of thos voices that has probably aged well

sidenote: not that it matters, but i always thought he was actually gay for some reason. idk why. but i just read that he's been married three different times. huh

Because they all look gay. Haven't you seen their early pictures?

They've had 2 good albums in a row, Playing the Angel and Sounds of the Universe.

Playing the Angel is highly underrated.

Christoffer Berg (fever ray, the knife) is producing along with Ben Hillier and FLOOD is mixing the album!

Yes, I hope the songs are as well written and produced as Violator and SOF+D!

I guess I started my thread too early

Hoping for the best with this one. I think their last really good album was Ultra...Exciter, PTA, SOTU were hit and miss at best. Cross between Violator and SOFAD is right up my alley if true

PTA was good. SOTU not so much for me.

Check out this studio version of Come Back. Much better than the album version IMO.
