I've given it one listen front to back. It's definitely sunny and upbeat throughout. I much rathered all the singles on my fifth listen than my first, so it's too early for any judgements for me.

So I came to post about the overlapping vocals / delay effect that is used in several of the songs. I think it's overused, but what's amusing is that the song "On-delay" seems to be poking fun at that very thing! Listen to the lyrics and you'll see.

I sort of stopped listening to them after strawberry jam. I did see them play at the fox theater in Oakland during the merriweather tour I believe. Really fun show, and grouper opened for them! Talk about two completely different vibes.

This album is definitely a grower. I can't put it down. Hocus Pocus might be my favorite song on the album, and the transition to Vertical is perfect. The drum beat to open Vertical is very reminiscent of Bowie's Soul Love.
And I think I'll take back what I said about the closer, Recycling. It grew on me and it seems to be a solid closer. It also sounds a lot like the closer, You Tell Me Where, from The New Pornagphers' album Brill Bruisers.
