Same with Running up that Hill but I wouldn't call the song mediocre just because the unwashed masses had never heard of Kate Bush until Stranger things.

I didn't realize that journey song was played more or less often than other songs since radio stations here seem heavily 80s focused so I hear a lot more from the era these days including journey.

I have a irrational anger about this and I blame Stranger Things. It’s a great song I loved growing up and now I change it when it comes on

The “Love theme” or do you mean “Man in Motion”? Probably the latter.

I was going to go with big blue sea.
I’d heard it and liked it before 40 days 40 nights but most people I ran into hadn’t listened to the song or knew who Bob was until after the movie.

Not from a movie but a TV show. And it was the ABSOLUTE perfect fit, the way to wrap up one of the best series ever. Badfinger's Baby Blue to bring to an end Breaking Bad.

Guess I got what I deserved
Kept you waiting there too long, my love
All that time without a word
Didn't know you'd think that I'd forget or I'd regret
The special love I had for you, my baby blue

Que? That song was big prior to WW. Are you being sarcastic?
It was just another '70s oldie, no different from Journey or Meat Loaf.

Now we see references to it as one of the greatest tracks of all time, cited for its genius, brilliance, etc etc etc. All of this began with the movie

Then that Wayne's World crap came out and suddenly it was a masterpiece and Queen was the GOAT instead of some forgotten English kweers

Dumb take.

My thought as well, though there have been some pretty good covers of it.

Reached #1 in the UK in '76 (several other countries) and #9 in the US. Queen have commented extensively on how much work they put into it.

But you do you, Mr. "Kafka".

I said it was a mediocre record. You defend it by saying:

Across a broad spectrum, yes. But you seem to think your subjective opinion trumps any other subjective opinion. It was a big hit upon release, then when introduced to a new audience, became a big hit again.

But as I said, you do you, Mr. "Kafka".

Sometimes your intentionally provoking takes get annoying but your arguments are at least logically sound. I've never seen you stoop to a blatant strawman or red herring in an argument like this Kafka, shame on you.
