Avett Brothers - Once and Future Carpenter needs to be on that list.
Although it is not my absolute favorite by them, it is still some of the purest music out there right now.
Eta: The album is called The Carpenter. Late night posting makes for some inaccuracies.

The Avett Brothers didn't make that album, whoever snuck inside their bodies made it. Very disappointed. But yeah, as bad as it is, it's still more quality than most of this OPs list.
