I was going through some stuff during my recent move and came across my storage bin full of cassette tapes of bootlegged Grateful Dead concerts.
I probably have 50 different concerts on cassette tape.
When I was about 16/17 I was getting into the Dead really big. I bought all kinds of dvd's, Dick's Picks CD's. Everything I could get my hands on. I ended up joining a Grateful Dead forum online, my first experience in online forums. After a while someone put up there that they had just transferred all their tapes to CD's of the shows they had, he was offering up the cassettes to the first person.
I jumped all over it, and about 2 weeks later I got a box delivered to my house packed full of tapes. My mom freaked because I had given out our home address over the internet, but all turned out well. I plugged those tapes in one after another for months; I was officially a Deadhead.
I still haven't converted these to CD or MP3 or anything. I need to do that so I can pass them on to someone else.
Any other stories out there like mine?

I a crate of 78s (perhaps 40-50) that I had no reason to hang on to any more. I tried selling individual records on ebay, but got no bites. In other cities, I'd know second hand record stores to simply drop these off at, but I had no idea where to take them in Baton Rouge. I put a shout out on this board called Tiger Droppings and someone claimed them.
I still have no idea if they were worth anything. It could have been a couple hundred bucks.

ive done hundreds of trades back in the day that were b&p's.
i moved a few years ago and i had literally thousands of dead, phish, mmw, abb, ect tapes that i just threw away. made me really sad, but i knew ild never convert them.
