What's his best album? My cousin really likes some stuff I have by him but I don't have any full albums to burn so I wanted to buy him one for his bday coming up. Any idea?

Thanks for your helpful post. You opened a thread about a guy you don't like. You have to be a miserable person.

Just trying to help. Its not too late for your cousin to develop some musical tastes that wont get laughed at.

His concerts are fun because he's really interactive with the crowd, but I hate when he starts ranting about oil spills or the government. He has some good songs, but they can get pretty cheesy.

You might have some small idea that people laugh at phish and by extension their fans, but you obviously have no idea the sheer magnitude of the contemptuous laughter that is directed towards people like you.

OP, I personally like his Disposable Heroes work.

This. I saw them open up for John Mayer a couple years ago. Very entertaining. He went out into the crowd in the lower bowl. (barefoot if I remember correctly) They only played for about 25-30 minutes, but we enjoyed everything they played.

So. Any album ideas? The kid is 10. He doesn't care what a Phish fan thinks about his taste in music. Your musical opinion is void as long as you enjoy Phish.

Chocolate Supa Highway and All Rebel Rockers w/ Spearhead are the two I've listened to the most if I had to guess.

Their fan base isn't that different

Pink Floyd - DSOTM
Led Zeppelin - IV
Beatles - White Album
Stones - Exile On Main Street
Jimi Hendrix - Axis: Bold as Love
Marvin Gaye - Whats Going On
James Brown - The Payback
The Band - Rock Of Ages
Velvet Underground - Loaded
Talking Heads - And The Name Of The Band Is The Talking Heads

Ya, I get it. Not everyone has the musical depth to enjoy Phish. Those albums should be a kick in the right direction though.

I own almost every one. But he is a kid. He wants to enjoy this Michael Franti phase. Not listen to crap his grandparents listened to.
