Frozen Soul is an early album of the year contender. They've really stepped up their game from the last album, which was also good.

Ghost-Phantom of the Opera

Been on a huge Ghost kick lately. They just released a covers album yesterday, I believe and this is on it. It has some killer guitar work on it.

Going to this all three days. Midnight, Vio-Lance, Crowbar, Napalm Death on my list for day one.

Nice. I'd want to see Allegaeon on Day 1 too.

There was a pre party Jasta & Friends all star jam last night that I went to that included Jasta, Ripper, Kirk Windstein, Rob Dukes, Rob Flynn, Phil Demmel, Paul Bostaph, and Chris Garza. Fantastic.

Lots of great bands at metal fest this year. Haven't been since 1999.

Great first day. I saw Allegaeon, War-bringer, Midnight, Vio-lence, Crowbar, Napalm Death, and Biohazard. And part of Defeated Sanity and Dark Angel.

Saturday looks stacked. Every band on the top of the lineup is worth seeing. Don't miss Immolation, Frozen Soul, and Undeath on the undergrad.

Sunday's lineup has the fewest bands in familiar with, but I'd definitely recommend Gatecreeper from the small print groups.

Dying Wish are pretty good metalcore. I like their chuggachugga stuff more than their melodic stretches.

Great time yesterday. I saw Misery Index, Terror, Frozen Soul, The Black Dahlia Murder, Ripper, Obituary, Suicidal Tendencies, and Anthrax. Frozen Soul didn't disappoint, they were on the middle of the three stages and I was right up front. I didn't get there in time to see Undeath except for their last song.

Yeah less pressure today definitely to jump between stages. High Command, Sanguisugabogg, Gatecreeper, and Lamb of God are the only ones on my must see list.

I think it is awesome to see Frozen Soul getting a lot of attention. I have known all of them for well over 10 years and all they come from the DFW DIY scene.

Also cool to see Creeping Death getting a lot of attention.

check out Fugitive from Ft Worth, featuring Blake from Power Trip and other members from Skourge, Creeping Death, Impalers, ANS, and many other bands.

Check out Skourge from Houston featuring the singer of Fugitive and Jacob from Narrow Head. Jacob is in all the best houston hardcore and punk bands.

Just watched their set. Really good. I dig the heaviness and the breakdowns. Generally not a huge fan of clean and harsh singing in the same song but I was really impressed.

I always lurk here, never post.
But I got reacquainted with an old friend this past week.
This is a badass album.

We got new singles this week from Dethklok - Aortic Desecration and Cannibal Corpse - Blood Blind. Both songs are awesome and I was never huge fan of Dethklok.
