Just finished watching a documentary on Bob Marley called 'Marley', that came out sometime this year.

It's on Netflix.

Check it out.

I knew a documentary was coming out.

Was it good or quite good?

I saw it not too long ago and it was quite good. I found out a lot of stuff that I had not known prior to seeing it. The interviews with Ziggy were good.

No conjecture, straight up firsthand comments from those who were with him and knew him (Bunny Wailer, his mother, Rita, the white Jamaican beauty pageant winner, the Gabonian dictator's daughter, two managers, a cousin, a daughter, Bob Jr. and Ziggy).

It's biographical, flows properly, doesn't get bogged down in any specific area. I'd say 'quite good' (and I'm one critical mofo ).

I did not know he opened for the Commodores and blew the roof off a major arena venue in New York (they must have been like 'oh we fricked' having to go on after him).

Yea I watched it Dandy. Awesome doc. It really shows what Marley's life was like. I enjoyed very much and have in my gift basket on Amazon right now.

what's that one bob marley song that starts out with a drum roll, then goes off into palm muted guitar chops with a few bossy horns in there every now and then?

I have Soul Revolution, Exodus, and Confrontation. Just listening to Legend on Youtube, as it popped up as a suggested video.

Ok... he just seems like one of those artists that every one just owns his greatest hits...

I was struggling to think of the titles of any of his records (without googling)... Ive never owned any of his stuff...

This is true. I listened to Legend at a young age, though. Maybe 14. I was gonna simply leave it at that. I had to go through a lot of garbage compilation cds to find decent stuff. It would have been convenient if the internet existed back then. Okay, it existed, but youtube didn't.

i watched most of it last night, ill finish the rest tonight. amazing doc. great insight and detail. i love how they explain the meanings of some of his songs.

also, anybody who only owns legend is missing out. he has many many incrdible songs, not just the popular stuff.
