Tough to narrow it down, but I'll second Neil Young. Amazing musician and lyricist, never afraid to try something new, plays with a great deal of passion.

Freddie Mercury- front man for the greatest rock band this planet has or will ever see.

Freddie was the GREATEST FRONT MAn EVER. Its NOT even close. QUEEN is at the TOP of my fav groups of all-time. NOBODY[ and I mean NOBODY} Could hit notes like Freddie Mercury.

Jimmy Buffett. He gets a lot of hate for some of his cheesier songs(I love them anyway fwiw), but he's written some truly great songs and puts on a hell of a live show.

Yeah it would be hard for me to make a thread about rock and roll and not title it: try to make an argument that queen is not the greatest rock band ever.

Exactly!

Now someone find under pressure because that is one of, if not the greatest duets in rock and roll history.

He is an excellant drummer, guitarist, and songwriter.

Side projects with Queens of the Stone Age, Probot, and Them Crooked Vultures...

He was asked to be Tom Petty's drummer before recording the first Foo Fighters album. I'm glad he turned the job down.
