One band that I've really gotten into lately is the Canadian rock band Loverboy, who were mainly popular in the 70's and 80's. I love 70's/80's rock, and Journey is one of my all-time favorite bands, so any band that fits in their category I know I'm bound to like, so naturally I became a fan of Loverboy's music. Who of you remember them, and if so, what are your favorite songs from the group? Here are some songs to jog your memory in case you've forgotten:

I put Loverboy on when I want a good laugh. That's not to say I think they're terrible but particularly the first two albums are so self-consciously mired in 80s trappings that it's hilarious to me. I was into them in passing when I was a kid; they were one of those bands that were a gateway from classic rock and hard rock into the early years of college/alt rock. You didn't jump directly from REO Speedwagon to Sonic Youth back then... Loverboy, The Cars, Cheap Trick, The Knack... they were like training wheels alt-rock.

I can listen to the first two records because I have a history there. Not sure if I would like it if I was checking them out for the first time in 2015.

Underrated.

He got a bad rap because he was a pretty boy on General Hospital, but he's a good performer and decent guitar player.

My first concert was Rick Springfield and Corey Heart. I was very young, and RS was my favorite at the time.

It's funny looking back on these bands. They were actually quite good even though they were pop. Today's pop music is mostly rehashed nonsense, and I now appreciate more the talents of the pop bands of the 80's and prior. The music was cheesy, but the talent was legit.

Yeah, I felt so as well. He was one of those who you secretly listened to. Love is Alright Tonight.

I've Done Everything For You is also good musically.

And I've always liked You Better Love Somebody lyrically and musically.

For 80s nostalgia I much prefer Foreigner over Loverboy.

Saw Journey and Loverboy together in Baton Rouge in the early 80's. We were on the floor right in front of the stage. Probably on of the best concerts I've seen.
