Who do you recommend? I’ve been playing a little for years but I’m ready to move forward.

You need to keep bumping this thread, so Fret Shack will see it tomorrow when he checks in.

I know a lotta guitar teachers in town ... preferred genre and your age and skill level would be helpful before I suggest anyone.

I’m 52 and mostly interested in learning to play lead. I’ve played for years and know basic power chords but I’m looking to really learn to play with more speed. Into Ozzy, Metallica, Van Halen etc.

I'm in the same boat as you (I'm in my fitties, too, with some knowledge of the fret board). I've heard good things about a fellow named Bill Kimbrell.

Try e-mailing Ian Webster at ian@websterguitar.com. He taught at Zeagler's before they changed ownership/name, unsure if he's still there. A few of my clients took from him and spoke highly.

Seth LeCoq with Parish County Line teaches locally too. Don't let his band's genre lead you to believe he's only modern country. He is an absolute badass in all genres and probably the best all around guitarist and fretted instrument talent in my client base. I wish I had the time to take lessons from him. E-mail me through my shop's webpage for his contact info.

I have other names for other genre specialties, skill levels and age groups. Please e-mail me me for more information.

I’m looking for someone who can teach me chicken-pickin style. I’m 29, and am an experienced gigging rhythm player, but not in any way a confident soloist. Anyone recommended?
