Same here. Tried to like them after they got so much love here but just can't get into them.

After their 5th album (Siren)--The band took a break and....Jerry hall had left Bryan Ferry for Mick Jagger. Ferry was devastated

they came back four years later with Manifesto in 1979'-which was very disco/dance flavored-which is the sound pushed to the masses now-with ferry as the Crooner that you know him as.

are frankly-awful-compared to the first incarnation of Roxy Music.

Why did Ferry go from cutting edge impactful genius songs to the latter?-I think It had to do with what the public wanted, his shitty songs were making money and his great stuff was buried away-he followed the money.

Even David Bowie pimped hard for them back in 1974' to America , but they never could find a foothold in the states

honestly, we weren't ready for that kind of sound until the late seventies and early 80's
