Missing Persons had a tremendously short but meteoric run in the heyday of MTV.
Tremendously short must not be quite the simile, as it is clear that Lady Gaga has ripped 'The Bozzio' off in terms of aesthetics (and nobody has said anything).
Thanks to another poster for pointing this out earlier today, I knew there was something I couldn't quite put my finger on. Now, I've put it to the keyboard.

Degas, it was you, wasn't it? Yeah, I enjoyed that band. They were one of those that kind of embarrassed you to admit it in public, but if it were in front of the TV, well, all was forgiven.
They layed the ground for much West Coast activity, and the relocation of many English acts to L.A. (albeit temporary, as this country was too stifling for them, being that the UK was still somewhat European at that time).

I know what you mean given the peer pressure of that era to frown on anything that didn't sound like Huey Louis or Bruce Springsteen, but I'm proud to proclaim that Spring Session M is probably up there in my top 30 favorite albums of all time...perhaps higher.

I'm now flippin' with Jack White and the other Raconteurs visiting Pete Townsend, and the two playing The Seeker. Weird, as in, it's totally promotional, yet Pete's people didn't have the sense to get those girls (I take it one is his daughter) out of there, as they are extremely patronizing.
I was already previously grooving to The Beat, and then connected to Townsend, as it's been purported that he enjoyed Save It For Later, and the same shite (enveloped by patronizing glom-ons). He looks like a deposed Pakistani ruler for Christ's sake.

I remember someone temporarily touring under "The Beat" Because they couldn't use "English Beat"...sort of like the Heads/Talking Heads. Glad to see we're on the same page.

My claim to fame.
I played drums with The Selecter. A dear prep school friend went to school up north (Michigan State), and his brother booked bands. Amongst them, of the least were The Selecter.
