I think so. It's one of the first albums I thoroughly enjoyed. I know there are people who cannot deal with their gimmicks and such, but musically, do you think they were legit? Especially on this album?

as a fan of this band snce the 70's, it is the best studio album from Ace,Paul,Gene and Peter. I know the album sounds muddy, but it still holds up after all these years.

Yes it's a good album. Their work in the 70s was great. They had some great stuff with Eric Carr in the 80s as well.

It's what I like about it as opposed to all of these bands who are singing like they are drowining on a boat and it's their last song and Vince McMahon uses for his WWE promos.

Parasite, no one can argue against, is bad arse. Got to Choose is a great opener. Goin Blind - never understood what the hell Gene was talking about in it - but it is a great song. Mainline is the Peter C semi-balad that probably doesn't belong. The rest is bad arse. Muddy is a great way to describe it, but it was 1974-1975 and they were far ahead of most.

KISS Alive one was an amazing album.YES they were legit. Not the best ever or anything but were legit. KISS Alive 2 was also pretty good. Cranking Detroit Rock City as the opening song was awesome.

Kiss sucks. Bunch of clowns who made music for prepubescent male teens. Merchandise, flames and blood don't make a band legit. I do like how their fans who are now 40+ still pull on the band's dicks like they are 14 years old. Take the Kiss glasses off, you are grown men now.

I do not consider their music to match their appearance in many songs...they're not as self-proclaiming (cheese dicks) as you think.

Parasite
Hard Luck Woman
Cold Gin

For example...^ are not "cheese dick" songs.

Cheese dicks = every BR/NOLA "rapper" with maybe 2 exceptions.

IMHO Destroyer is their best Album. It was the first I ever purchased. I also love Rock and Roll Over. Christine Sixteen is a great song.

Anyone who thinks KISS is a cheese dick band is a cheese dick. Grew up on these guys. Nostalgia cannot be wiped away. As musicians, they weren't really that technically proficient (i.e., their hooks were usually pretty simple), but oh what hooks they were.

It is one of the weirdest sounding albums I've ever heard, production-wise. But it is a great record.

Marty Friedman called Ace's solo on Strange Ways "the most intense lead in rock".

So, basically your quasi expert opinion ought to go straight to the recycling bin, amirite?
