I've got a Guild DV-6.It has a Truss Rod.

There's a little gap between the neck and the body.I've been playing it close to 10 years with no adjustment.

I've never done this before.Adjusted the neck.

I guess I could Google it but figured I would ask y'all first.

I know how to access the Rod.I'm guessing I'll need to take the strings off.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Just loosen the middle strings, move them out of your way.
If you have a gap between neck and body,it's not good.

Dont want to be a doomsayer.

Do you mean between the heel and the body? Could you post a picture?

It's the heel,I guess. The little gap is towards the back of the guitar.Working on getting a picture up.

Truss rod adjusts the neck relief. It won't take out that gap. You may need to get the neck reset.

If it's a bolt-on neck (likely) you could very carefully try tightening the neck bolt, accessed from the inside through the sound hole.

Thanks.Well dang.I just noticed it this morning.

I'll take it where I bought it.They've been at the same location for 30+ years.

I'd hate to cause further damage.

Not sure if your's is a Tacoma or Westerly, but either way I think it's a dovetail neck joint. It will probably have to be reset.
