Lockn' still has artists to announce and definitely beats Phases of the Moon as far as having legendary acts present. However, this Phases of the Moon lineup is stacked and their camping set up looks pretty great. Also, tickets are about $50 cheaper than Lockn' but with the student discount they will probably be about the same.

Lunar Landing Conspiracy looks very interesting. I look forward to seeing what that is all about. I mean when it is being put on by the best touring live act in the US, how can it not be good.

POTM has the potential to jump Lockn' as the festy of the year

Music festivals have jumped the shark. There is so much overlapping these days that nothing is unique. Too much WSPSUX. Wanee,Mtn Jam, Lockn, Vibes, Moon whatever...it is all oversaturated

Eta: as for the OP I'd go for Moon because the grounds look much better

True, but at the same time it allows people in all sections of the country to experience them. I understand hating on sellout festivals like Hangout or ACL but these two are pretty unique.

A strictly jam festival wasn't easy to find not too long ago. I'm glad some are still trying to recreate what Bonnaroo was before they sold out. I don't see how anyone, especially yourself, can hate on festivals booking bands you'd like to see

I don't know- as I get older I just find the big camping festivals exhausting and overwhelming. I am interested in going to some more low key stuff like Telluride Blues & Brews, Bear Creek, etc...

Believe it or not, Wanee is pretty low key. They always have a great lineup, no youngsters, camping is very spread out and there are only two stages, not counting the traveling stage, and they are very close to each other.

If you have never been to Suwanee music park I definitely recommend it.

Yeah, I'd like to. Purple Hatters Ball, Bear Creek, and Wanee usually are all good.

I don't want to sound jaded- but I do miss the days when Bonnaroo was a monster and the undisputed king. At its peak there was nothing comparable.

Take 2006 for example: Radiohead, Beck, Oysterhead, Neville Brothers, Elvis Costello, Trey Anastasio+Mike Gordon+Marco Benevento+Joe Russo Superjam, Phil Lesh and Friends, the Disco Biscuits, Damian Marley, My Morning Jacket, Dr John, Rebirth Brass Band, Dumpstaphunk, Bela Fleck, Medeski Martin & Wood, moe, Soulive, Robert Randolph, Tom Petty, The Streets, Steel Pulse,etc..

It was so eccentric yet had so much quality.

I never went to a Camp Bisco but they had one lineup with Ween and LCD Soundsystem. That is as good as it fricking gets.

Bonnaroo used to be nuts. It really is a shame what it has changed to but from the business standpoint I can't blame them

Not really. For the exception of a couple, their festival could be imitated by a different band on a different stage hitting a different button on the laptop.

I'm sure the festival was fun depending on how much you took but as far as music quality goes, Bisco ain't it

I can't tell if this dude is serious or not about the Disco Biscuits being a good band... Really??? Disco Biscuits??? A band that named themselves after mdma. Whats the old adage about bands who you absolutely must have good speed to enjoy? Anyways, They suck. And they suck it HARD, Ole Danny Boy.

Just to not totally shite on your band, dude, I'll lend myself to give them some credit. They have one listenable tune...(can you believe that? A band with only one good song? Hard to believe, right?! ) Anyways, Mr. ShitTasteInMusicandDrugs, that song is named M.E.M.P.H.I.S. That's the only one. For real, dude, THEY SUCK.

Phases of the moon is the better of the two in the original post.
