My parents each have one of these and swear by them. It seems like a ton of money though.

Update got it from best buy and it's awesome. Have 30 days with it to decide if i want to keep it; my new theory on life is a 30 day return policy

Shopped around and got this one

much better and louder sound than the jambox, only issue is size.
4 x 14 x 4 inches ; 2.5 pounds
vs
Jambox 6 x 1.6 x 2.8 inches ; 12 ounces
$109 vs $174 for bigger boom if that's your goal
Can blast a single room or be more than enough for a outdoor patio. Great battery life. Very satisfied overall
