Aren't you the guy who thinks Isbell is a better guitar player than John Mayer?

This could be a very pivotal moment in country music and how things are done...

After listening to the album, I'm almost thinking someone hacked the computers at billboard. The typical fan of any of the other acts in the top 10, outside of Musgrave, has probably never heard of Isbell. I'm sure the Nashville execs are probably on the phone to Billboard lobbying to get Isbell's album re-classified.

I like the album, and will listen again, but don't think it quite holds up to Southeastern for me personally.

Has anyone mentioned that the new album is different from Southeastern?

it's a hopeful record. southeastern was a depressing one.

it's almost like they are totally different records. I mean, the same guy made them and all, but one is somber and the other upbeat. And some folks prefer one over the other.

That's not country.

At least this guy has a decent voice, unlike most of the artists the country-hipsters on this board push as real country.

very good point. if anyone thought he was going to make "southeastern pt 2" they didn't really get what type of person jason is to begin with. every record of his is very different I find.

musgraves is great.

In an interview he did on WTF, he says that she is an old school country singer. I looked her up after that and she is great

Country-hipsters like you are so fricking stupid.

The current #1 on that list is country. Listen to the Isbell album and that one and tell me they're the same genre.

Again, I'm not saying it's bad. It's just not country.

I can't get enough of this album. I've listened to it front to back about 50 times in the last week.

they and the rest of it are the laughing stock of "country music". them and florida georgia line.
