Jamiroquai - New Album "Automaton" Review

I've always thought Jamiroquai was a band that gets overlooked a lot here in the states, because they pump out some high quality songs. It could be a situation of their own making though, because they don't come to the United States often. Their latest album, "Automaton" is pretty darn good.
I would say at least 8 of the 12 songs are winners. One is on the fence, three I didn't care for personally.
"Automaton," "Cloud Nine," "Shake it On," and "Hot Property" are the highlights for me. "Automaton" sounds like something Herbie Hancock would do. The others are very much in the vein of what Jamiroquai does best: good instrumentals, catchy lyrical hooks, funky beats.
If you're on the fence about it, don't be. If you haven't visited Jamiroquai since the "Virtual Insanity" video in the 90's, you should look them up. And here's a pro tip for you: women love Jamiroquai. Great music in the background of your car when you're on a date. You know, for when you have to put the doom metal on hold for a few hours. Give it a shot.

I'm still waiting on my pre-order. It isn't officially released until the 7th in the US.

Just got my download of the album. First listen, loving the beginning of Shake it On.
