I thought he was great at Virgin Fest

He was not a happy camper when he walked out. He was screaming Sixteen Saltines and then allowed that energy to really make it a good one.
Very small Voodoo crowd overall for the 3 days.

i heard he asked the crowd to get louder at the beginning. he loves new orleans, so i hope he put on a good show. i also heard at the end that he said "You have been wonderful, and I've been Jack White."

I only went Sunday, but I thought the same thing, especially during the earlier parts of the day. I haven't been to Voodoo since '04, but I remember Snow Patrol playing around Noon on one of the smaller stages and having a pretty nice size crowd, but Coheed at 4:30 on the main stage yesterday was small. The band that played before Coheed, I think their name was Vintage Trouble, was pretty damn good and there couldn't have been more than 100 people watching them. The crowed started picking up for Nas and got pretty big for Jack White, but I couldn't believe how small it was.
Maybe it was the overall weak line up that kept people away. I really didn't think the lineup was THAT bad, but then I just looked at '03 and '04 and the last couple of years have been pretty weak in comparison.

$90 ADVANCE PURCHASE tickets will thin out a crowd real quick.

That too. I wanted to go Sunday, but like an idiot I waited until the Friday before and ended up paying $125 for one fricking day. I know I waited until two days before, but god damn. I bought my ticket at the gate for Jazz Fest last year and it was only $5 or $10 more than the advanced tickets.

Jack's set was awesome. He let it go after the first couple of songs. It was about 55 degrees, though.
You can't just have 3 big bands and scatter around smaller bands.
Check out Lollapalooza or ACL (similar lineups)...the whole dang festival is full of artists from start to finish.
Voodoo had 1 person I wanted to really check out on Saturday(That would be hard to see outside S. La)

I saw him last month and thought his show was really good. It was great that he did stuff from his entire catalogue.

I know every jack white album like the back of my hand and my 2 favorite songs were both played. "Slowly turning into you" and "top yourself"
