In Restless Dreams - Paul Simon doc

Anybody catch this one? It’s on multiple streaming services I believe (I watched it because I have MGM+/on demand but I think it’s at least also on Prime).
Overall I found this fairly disappointing. Mainly because it was two parts and almost 3.5 hours long in total when it could’ve been a really nice, tight 90-100 minute documentary.
I found part 1 better than part 2. I’m not sure what I was expecting, but I guess I expected a doc on Paul Simon and his career. But instead it was far too focused on his newest album (7 Psalms) and the recording of that, and also part 2 went WAY HEAVY into the political angle of his Graceland album and not even really the album itself. I guess some of that is expected but not like basically an hour of part 2.
The first part, mainly focused on his S&G years, was pretty solid. Part 2 does have some good parts though (like the night he and Edie Brickell met on SNL, the post breakup S&G stuff, and some of his songwriting aspects).
All in all it’s worth a watch if you like Paul Simon. But it’s a slog to get through at times and I found myself picking up my phone several times in P2. And you can skip the last 20+ minutes or so if you’re so inclined. Also a lot of it involves just watching him speak-sing lyrics for his new album with a blank stare on his face. It's sort of odd.
Has anybody else checked this one out? Thoughts?

That’s me after every time I’ve tried to listen to Graceland. Sorry, not sorry.

Paul Simon stole a song from Los Lobos. Still love Graceland and Simon & Garfunkle.

I'm not a big enough Paul Simon fan to listen to his albums cover to cover. But I do enjoy a fairly good handful of his songs (as well as his S&G stuff).
And he's a good songwriter, which I think I was hoping to get something about that from this doc. But outside of a little bit of info, the focus was on other things.
Hell, a lot of the doc was him speak-singing lyrics to (I assume) his new album with a semi-blank stare on his face. I could've done without seeing that 10+ times for several minutes each time.
