Don't listen to idiots like KingCringe who write out paragraphs of bullshite about how rock is dead. The methods of listening is just different.

Compare the social relevance of new rock in roll today to what it was 10 years ago, 20 years ago, or 30 years ago. Rock music has lost a lot of market share. Yes, it is possible to find "good" rock music these days, it's just not as easy to find as it used to be. It isn't the music of a movement, it isn't the music that is most popular among young people, the vast majority of women don't listen to it, the vast majority of African Americans don't identify with it, it largely isn't heard on terrestrial radio, where 60% of people hear new music for the first time, it's almost completely absent from popular culture and television, ect.

You are right that rock n roll isn't dead, but it is impossible to argue that it isn't weaker in the public consciousness than it has been at any point in the past 50 years.

As for the quality of new rock n roll, there is a ton of quality and variety out there, but I struggle to find a lot of bands that I personally enjoy. I see a lot of bands being pushed that, to me at least, don't "feel" like rock, even though they are billed as such. I'm sorry, but I just don't dig the groove of Tame Impala. "I Can Make Your Hands Clap" doesn't sound like "rock" to me, and neither does 21 Pilots, The Lumineers, Haim, Grouplove, and countless other "indie" acts with their gamut of "doo-wop" vocals, disco drum beats, and synthesizers just aren't my bag. Acts like Alabama Shakes and the Black Keys are alright, but I just feel like there's something missing.

Maybe I am just struggling to adapt to the new methods of listening, but I really do struggle to find more than maybe a dozen current active "rock" acts that I really and truly care for. Maybe I don't know where to look, but it seems to me to be much much harder to find what I'm looking for than it has ever been since 1968.

If you know more national bands like Cage the Elephant, All Them Witches, The Sword, Manchester Orchestra, Jack White's various projects, Anders Osborne, Crash Kings, etc, please let me know. I'm starving for new rock and my radio is not giving it to me. I want something that has that feel of wreckless rebellion, that aggression, that angst that you can feel in old Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Guns n Roses, etc. I want to feel like the roof could pop off at any moment, like a riot is breaking out. I want to break the monitors and take a baseball bat to a cop car, yet still have a great voice and lyrics that can be understood (not just unintelligible screaming). I feel like music today is either so laid back, as if an entire generation is making it on Ritalin, various shades of pop and hip/hop techno-babble, or incomprehensible screaming and bellowing rage that lacks any balance or composition and despite complex rhythm patterns ends up just becoming noise.

You need to listen to The Monitor by Titus Andronicus.

Awesome. It is my favorite album of the 2010s. I couldn't be sure you would enjoy it, but it has wreckless ambition, angst and aggression in spades.

So predictable.

Dude, if you put half the effort into looking for new tracks, artists, and labels instead of writing these bullshite diatribes maybe you'd find some good music. Give up the anecdotal claims of rock dominating the charts in the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Several other genres began topping the charts during those time periods (pop, r&b, soul, disco, etc) .

You want to be spoonfed good music. Sounds like a personal problem.

Ritalin, being an amphetamine, is a stimulant. That doesn't lead to laid back music. C'mon mon
